Our story

Driven by our founder's passion and personal experience in overcoming poverty and adversity, She Matters Foundation was founded in response to the overwhelmingly high unemployment rates of female migrants in the Netherlands.

How we got here

Back in 2017, She Matters Foundation was founded as a non-profit with a vision to empower female migrants with the skills and support needed to enter the Dutch labour market.

A year later, we evolved into a hybrid social enterprise with the establishment of She Matters Recruitment – a recruitment agency working to empower businesses with diverse talent, and female migrants with employment. Our hybrid structure not only allows us to maximise our social impact while ensuring the necessary resources for client and candidate success, but to also work more effectively towards our mission of empowering women to further equity for all.

To further the efforts of our foundation, our recruitment agency builds diverse teams by connecting professional migrant women with jobs at multinational companies in the Netherlands.

Lotus Flower Programme

Our focus

Collaborating with corporate partners, our 9-week Lotus Flower Programs offer career readiness training, mentorship, job shadowing, and placement assistance for migrant women (8-10 per program). Tailored to their needs, we empower them to thrive in the Dutch labor market.
